All's right with the world. The Wings beat the Senators. Allison has a good showing with 3 assists and a +3. Sturm and Cooke both pot 2 goals each. Salo makes 19 saves for his first start and win of the season.
SanJose ekes by Washington, but loses Bondra for a day or two due to a pulled hamstring caused by a Theo Fleury check. Fleury was ejected from the game for the check.
But the horrific news comes as Petr Foresberg goes down with an undisclosed foot injury after blocking a Dany Heatly slapshot in the 3rd period. He's listed as day to day.

Today's games are up. Detroit wins again. But the real story are the Buffalo Sabres, who with nary a superstar on their team, have gone undefeated thus far at a perfect 5-0-0. Who will stop them? Next opponent is the Minnesota Wild? Vegas odds have them at 4:1 odds to win that match even though they may be without top centre Vincent Damphousse who's nursing a sore elbow.
However the most notable blow to any team regarding injuries has to be the Montreal Canadians (1-4-1). Their high octane offense which has managed to produce 19 goals in only 4 games good enough for 2nd best is in tough now with two of their top players out for 2 weeks with injuries. Star defenseman Roman Hamrlik will miss 1-2 weeks with a broken nose after an innocent hook by Edmonton center Steve Yzerman pulled Hamrlik ackwardly to the ice where he hit his face into Yzerman's shin pad. Meanwhile Canadian forward Daniel Alfredsson suffered a groin injury, late in the 3rd period after catching a rut in the ice and will be sidelined 1-2 weeks.
Other injury news sees Washington defenseman Derrick Walser go down with a bruised elbow after falling to the ice ackwardly during a very sloppy line change. "It was early into the second period and I was a little over zealous to get onto the ice to start my shift. My heal got caught on the boards and I tumbled down to the ice surface. Frankly, I'm a little embarassed, my teammates will make sure of that," claimed Walser. The Capital's defenseman will be sidelined 1-2 weeks.
