The BRHL would like to congratulate our Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins. I'd like to congratulate Chris Keogh on managing his team all the way through the finals. His committed effort took his diverse squad from the 4/5 matchup all the way through the top 2 teams of this season.
The BRHL-AHL would like to congratulate the Manitoba Moose on their 3rd consecutive Calder Cup Championship. GM Steve Irvine has rebuilt his squad throug heavy drafts and the largest AHL squad in history. With new rules, we hope to see these players make the jump to the NHL and compete for the playoffs there next season.
The BRHL is proud to announce this year's award winners. Each team will recieve monetary value placed in their team balance for each award won. The 2011-12 winners are:
Hart Trophy - Carey Price - Tampa Bay Lightning (44% of the votes)
Lady Byng Trophy - Tyler Bozak - Ottawa Senators (44% of the votes)
Vezina Trophy - Carey Price - Tampa Bay Lightning (77% of the votes)
Calder Trophy - Jordan Eberle - Boston Bruins (55% of the votes)
Norris Trophy - Kristopher Letang - Calgary Flames (77% of the votes)
Selke Trophy - Patrice Bergeron - Tampa Bay Lightning (75% of the votes)
GM of the Year - Chris Joyce - Tampa Bay Lightning (44% of the votes) (Others recieving votes - 33% Tim Tomayko(CGY) and 22% Chris Keogh (BOS) )
Again congratulations to all winners of the league and awards.
Now on to next season. After a brutal season, this league looks ready to turn into the league it was once set out to be. I am very much looking forward to an entertaining draft event. Due to a family event/Canadien holiday, we're looking like the 2nd weekend of August still for the draft. In the mean time, teams are reminded about submitting their RFA/RFAs turned UFA contracts before August 5th. This is your last chance to resign some of your players. In the next couple days/weeks I'll be looking for help on ensuring the offers are legit. If an offer is not valid, you will have a chance to resubmit on the message boards as a few already have. Check the signing board to see if you are a team that made a mistake. If I state your team has a mistake, please only update your post to correct said mistake.
Trading is OPEN!!! Any team can trade now. This season is the first time UFA rights are tradeable. Reminder, UFA rights are only for 10% bonus on your UFA offer during the FA period. It may never be used, but GMs are no longer restricted.
The Official Draft Order is located here:

If you make a trade that has a pick from this upcoming draft, you MUST submit that trade through the league e-mail (until we move on to offseason portal) AND on this message board. I will try to chage it daily if there are any trades.
Because no requests for change have been submitted since the last e-mail of BRHL rules, those rules have become official. I will soon make some tweeks to the appearance, but no league changes will occur. We may see some change requests appear this offseason, but nothing will occur until after this season. Thank you all for any input you provided for the rules. With a new CBA, we may need to change our league next season, but we will have a full year to work on that after the CBA is agreed upon.
As always, thank you all for cooperation throughout this season. We need some more GMs for vacancies as well as potential GMs in case we lose some members. If you know anyone that is interested, please give me their information or have them e-mail the league with you as a reference. We'll gladly take on anyone with no experience at all or someone that has been around.
