Though not possessing a first rounder in many years after moving it to acquire Bobby Ryan, then Sens have several picks this year and walked away very happy.
"We feel we have drafted about 5 players who will be players in this league sooner rather than later and a few of them will have impacts. Acquiring Bozak, a young guy, who is outstanding on faceoffs and provides good offense and defense was also a coup."
Brett Bulmer - pick 49 - Already playing in the NHL, rough and tumble character that will be looked to on our 3rd-4th line within a season or two.
John Ramage - Pick 105 - Already has two NCAA seasons under his belt. Plays like the old man. Defensive rock is a project for a few years of development.
Zach Hyman - Pick 115 - Tier II Jnr player of the year will play in the NCAA this year. Potential top 6 forward.
Mark Owuya - Pick 150 - Late blooming scandinavian netminders are getting a real name with previous tenders such as Lundqvist, Rinne blazing the trail. Looked good in NHL prospect and preseason camps. Will split year between ECHL and AHL.
Ben Smith - Pick 171 - Already playing regular role in NHL for Chicago. Can never have enough soldiers but this guy has skill too. Will be joining the Sens minor league team this year.
Yasin Cisse - Pick 201 - 6'3" 210 lbs playing in NCAA. Scored at near a goal a game pace in USHL. Real project playing for hockey factory that is BU.
Matt Donovan - Pick 205 - Played for Islanders farm team after good college career. Solid all around dman might fit into our 4-6 dman slots within a year or two.
We are happy with our draft, despite not having a high pick for the first time in several drafts. At least 4 of these players will be playing for the Binghamtom Senators by next season.
