The very first player that GM Goulet ever traded away when he took over the Sharks nearly a season and a half ago is now his most recent acquisition. At that time Bondra was dealt along with a 2nd rounder in the first ever BRHL draft for Mark Bell and Bostons 1st rounder who turned out to be Andrei Markov.
This time their Bondra deal cost the Sharks a 3rd rounder, a very under-rated Dman prospect in Milan Jurcina who is big and mobile and most importanlty very mature, as well as a young checker with some finnish in Eric Belanger.
The Sharks were happy to have acquired a sniper to add to their arsenal and to play along side Lemieux and Chistov. Parting with Jurcina and Belanger was tough but you have to give to receive.
