Will close auction whenever an offer comes in that meets my minimum requirement.
Don't ponder too long or you will be forced to pay more value at the trade deadline!

feel free to offer in the other sections for the other guys i have listed..
i was approached via ICQ where it is 2000 times easier and faster to make a deal than via PM or email..
what was I supposed to do? say no? only if it is in the public forum?

. . . only if it is in the public forum? In a word, yes. The eBay style (PUBLIC) auction works best if all bidding is done in the forums only so potential buyers know what they need to bid to secure the deal. If you do not care to have bidding revealed for all to see, don't call it a "Public Auction". Just say, "Looking for best offer . . . catch me on ICQ".

TO ANSWER BOTH YOUR QUESTIONS:
There is no minimum requirement... just as soon as something that is NOT COMPLETE GARBAGE comes across this forum or my email account or ICQ, I WILL ACCEPT IT...
and for these specific assets I listed in a public auction, I will update the thread once a player has been moved

IT WOULD HELP IF YOU USED IT!!!!! Come on guys! The deadline is weeks away, yet I haven't heard back from many of you or ever seen you on ICQ... time to shit or get off the pot

And, it doesn't matter to me either way since I had no interest in Jones. BUT (and we've had issues here before with this), if you are making a public auction (which is clearly in the title), make the thing public. As for the minimum requirement, you did say in the original post that you would move Jones when an offer "meets my minimum requirement" so it would be perceived that there was, in fact, a minimum requirement. So, perhaps some GM's would like to know what that is. Myself, I could care less what the minimum requirement is. And, one thing I agree with you on Rex (and pertaining to your other post), is that it is very pathetic as to what some guys put in for effort around here. This used to be a great league with a lot of activity but it's really gone downhill in my opinion. It's the same old guys on ICQ and it would be nice to see some other guys around from time to time. For example, we hired a new Philly GM a few months ago but has anyone seen him online? Has he posted ANYTHING? Like Rex said (and I agree), it's time to shit or get off the pot. If you're not adding anything to the league or you just don't have the time anymore, perhaps it's time to get some fresh blood in here.

So, perhaps some GM's would like to know what that is. Myself, I could care less what the minimum requirement is. I haven't been around very long, so I admit, I didn't know about previous public auctions, etc. as of course they arent in the league rules, and noone has time to go back and read all the threads.. So I apologize for that. However, Im not sure what I would do differently in terms of this public auction. Hear me out... In my original post I said "Will close auction whenever an offer comes in that meets my minimum requirement." The fact is, everyone knows the player i was offered is an assetthat didnt get bid on in his own public auction format not too long ago.. I didn't want to publicly flog anyones asset (as the deadline is coming up), so I didnt post that it didnt meet the minimum requirement. So almost a week had gone by with no other offers in the public auction, and as I have been every night the last month, I was discussing trade ideas with GMs on ICQ and came to an agreement with Tyler on Randy Jones. - Another reason people need to be on ICQ is because it moves discussions along at a 21st century pace So rather than doing him the disservice of posting his offer on the messageboard and seeing if someone else wanted to top it and holding off on our agreed deal, I simply posted a deal that had met my minimum requirement and said that I had accepted it. Can someone tell me what the proper protocol should have been? Should i have forced a potential deal that I liked to "wait" for someone else to beat it? Anyways, thanks for responding above! And keep the involvement coming!

Just put in auction instead of public auction.... mention that private bids will be considered and the auction may end when a deal is agreed upon...

I'm an e-mail away. I'm barely on ICQ because A) Nobody else is and B) e-mails or PMs are just plain easier ways to reach me. It's my personal preference. FWIW . . . I added a whole bunch of new ICQ contacts last time I was on and half of them got ignored. ICQ sucks.

Actually there are only 7 teams in this league that have yet to add me on ICQ, and everyone else is actually pretty active on there... And anyone that uses the "ICQ is such a lame program" argument and don't want to download the program..... just go here: www.icq2go.com and use ICQ as a webpage.. nothing to download.. mute the audio and you're even good to go at work Anyways with the deadline approaching, everyone should try to make an effort to be on ICQ the next week... like I said there are roughly 10-14 of us on there ALL THE TIME.. and another 6-10 that are better than just sporadic.. which leaves the 7-8 of you that might be active.. but it helps to physically see everyone online. And trade talks progress 100 times faster.
