Wow. The response continues to be a little underwhelming... 1 team with an offer... Wow.

LOL . . . Cammalleri is grossly overpaid at 5.5 mill and Lou makes 6.5 mill. How many teams can actually afford those salaries? Your market is mighty small. Sorry.

How is a player whose contract is less then his NHL contract and is a legitimate goal scorer over paid?

Because Cammalleri gets $6 million in a $59.4 million NHL and gets 500k less in a 43 million BRHL league...

because we didn't want contracts for some players to go out of control early in their careers.... crosby and ovechkin would have been asking for 10 million, but because we're going by an rfa guide, we're controlling the size of contracts throughout their careers...

How is a player whose contract is less then his NHL contract and is a legitimate goal scorer over paid? Well, let's look at it this way . . . if Cammalleri's contract was just half of what it is, do you think you'd still have him right now? 77 SC is not all that "legitimate" in a Sim league. If he was mid-80s + then sure, he'd be top 15-20. Add his low DF and EX and LD, and all you've got is a pretty good top 6 forward in our league, not a premier top line forward. Again, it's all about what the market will bear. If someone with oodles of Cap space needed a top 6 guy, Cammalleri might make half-sense.

I thought we were looking for authenticity! Actually we have never been the same as the NHL, we had a cap, when the NHL didn't and this will be the first time it has ever jumped up. The point of a steady and stable cap, is to work within the leagues financial parameters. Teams that dont grasp that and give players equivilant of what they make in the NHL will ultimately have huge problems. Given the structure in hand, teams must decide when to move players perhaps before they want to due to impending contract status' (see Chara, Zdeno, and Kovalchuk, Ilya).
