As long as you can sucessfully do your lines following all applicable guidelines (including not sending signed UFAs down who are making more than 750k), it is fine.
I know the timing has been poor due to unforseen events in both Jesse and my schedules, so bear with us, know your situation, and abide by it.
Should someone NOT be able to manuever under the cap legally, that player will be reopend for bidding, and HEAVY fines will hit the offending franchise.

and this stands for the period of time for UFA correct? I don't want to be putting little, voracek, barker etc in the minors now to then be told the guys I signed cannot be sent to the minors before the season starts. jh

And to confirm...waivers are not currently in place.
Again, prefer to be fined than lose guys through a rule was not made clear was even in place just to fill my farm roster.

To be completely transparent so that no one arks up...
From the rules....
2. i) No forward with an overall rating of seventy (70) or higher, no defenceman with an overall rating of seventy-two (72) or higher, nor any goaltender with an overall rating of seventy-five (75) or higher can be sent to the minors. Otherwise they will be subject to waivers regardless of rookie status or age. If the player clears waivers he will be placed back on the owning team's pro roster and be subject to the team's overall salary cap. (For salary cap guidelines see below).
iii) Commencing in Season 8 there will be a Farm Salary Cap for individual players. That limit will be $1,500,000. Therefore a player making more than this figure - regardless of overall rating - cannot be demoted to the farm.
1. i) Players may play less than 10 games and be sent up and down without penalty. When a player who is 25 or older plays 10 games in BRHL, he must clear waivers before being sent down. A player ALWAYS receives 10% of his salary on the farm, regardless of games played.
As there is no overall rating on our players anymore and my players are less than 25....and to my knowledge waivers are not in place in the offseason.......any of Downie, Barker, Voracek etc can be sent down in the offseason.
Can I have a ruling in some way to confirm this before I go making my changes please.
Thanks jh

first off read the F&*$(## rules posted in the thread
secondly, yes they can be sent down once UFA is over.
thirdly, yes others can be demoted to minors as long as they are eligible.

Like I said people were unaware we were changing the "rules" of UFA. Now that it is clear that players making less than 1.5mil can be sent down to the minors without risk of waivers...no worries. Thanks jh

I guess the READ THE UFA RULES and UFA RULES AND GUIDELINES were too subtle

having been a long term member of the league who has been through this process and in fact assisted Ken in running it....maybe something like
NEW RULE CHANGE to UFA RULES
Might have been a better title. Like I said, was not aware of any new rule change but am happy to abide by as I have the roster flexibility to do it.

This rule seems to make a ton of sense... I wish there was still a way to enforce that.

What about just listing OV again, that would solve sending players to the minors to circumvent the cap... circumvent, f@#$ing Kovy, SIGN ALREADY!

So I can send down Afinogenov, Wolski, Comeau, Rinne and Enstrom to give my team a few more million so I can make bigger bids on guys? That does seem rather underhanded for any team trying to do that.....
I can understand if the player who makes less than 1.5 million being sent down if they were sh*t, but sending down guys like Voracek, Barker and Downie to win bids doesn't make any sense.... as john said, it's cap circumventing and is denying other teams to have a chance to sign players

Yeah, thats my point... thats where the OV rule would come in handy.

9. In an effort to allow cap crunched teams to fill out their farm roster, any contract offer on a UFA of 750k and under will not count against the cap during the bidding process. Please keep in mind though, that there is a 50 contract limit on players signed to contracts. If you go over this limit, fines will follow.
Remember we have the substitute for OV that a player must have played 5 AHL games to go to the minors

And I had forgotten all about the 5 AHL games... I am going to have to take a fine. I missed the 750K rule So all of my bids on the following should be null and void and they should be returned to UFA bids.
Pikkarainen Mayers Dvorak Tucker Cullimore
Sorry to all those affected...but I never intended to cause this much fuss...was only looking to pick up decent minor leaguers...
fine away

This is the first i remember hearing of it, and its going to fuck up all my numbers I had been working on all week during UFA

I think for next season....to avoid all the confusion of the farm/pro contract that counts against the cap.....when we offer a free agent a contract, we should specify whether or not we are offering a farm contract or a pro contract.... Obviously the pro contract would count against the cap while the farm contract would not.....on the other hand, any pro contract will be considered as having a higher value than any farm contract being offered.... So if there are a bunch of farm contract bids, but one pro contract bid, then obviously the pro contract bid is going to be the winning bid.

actually the 5 games played rule only applies to players 23 and under. From the rules "In order to play in the minors, a player 23 and under MUST have played at least 5 AHL games in the prior year. This is to avoid stashing elite young guys on ELC’s in the minors."
I made my bids based on this rule. Modin is the only one this applies to but I only ever signed him to help out my farm team or to be a good call up/veteran extra body.
