I had a few GMs ask me what the situation would be. It would be that Hasek would immediately be activated by the team holding his rights (Atlanta) when he plays an NHL game, be it exhibition or regular season. Atlanta can always trade his rights, but even if they do not want to activate him, as soon as he plays a game he is AUTOMATICALLY activated.

And his contract? Will his rather ridiculous 13 or 14 million dollar figure be re-assigned to him? Or will Atlanta negotiate with you? Inquiring minds want to know!

A good question and flexing my authority muscles, lets say negotiate a new contract.

I think that would make a lot more sense. The salary situation in the BRHL is a lot different now than when Hasek retired.
