3 years at 1,999,999 per year.
So is this the same? 48 hours to match?

when your bid becomes the official high bid, I'll make my decision... won't be long now... =>

Thats why I asked about the 48 hour clock. It was over 48 hours when I asked the question so wouldnt a third party GM either have to beat it or you decide to match it. To me it seems that the 48 hour clock should stand for RFAs as well because when you have a bid on one, you cant bid on UFAs with that same money.
My thinking is that nobody else bid, so you had until 11:01 last night to decide to match it

I believe Panthers are correct. He doesn't have to decide to match until no one else bids within the 48 hour window. I'm not sure how long he has to decide, but in the spirit of fairness, it should be very prompt.

I've approached FA with my team with the knowledge that Dvorak may or may not be on my roster. So I've adjusted my cap to account for his qualified salary (even though at that point I could send him down to the minors as he'd tuck under $1.5m).
Ricky doesn't need to "decide" within 48 hours just no other teams can bid. Some GMs I know were waiting for UFA to peter out before binding on RFAs, it's only fair to say first come first served if a team was willing to dabble with RFA earlier than others.
Sorry, Cal, I didn't mean Ricky had to decide with 48 hours just that bidding would close within 48 hours. But yes, in the spirit of fairness it would be nice for the team to decide sooner than later.

I dont think it should be "in the spirit of fairness"
There needs to be a timeline put in place.

Ricky, I know nothing has been stated pertaining to a deadline to respond to RFA offers but letting it linger at your leisure is not an ammicable solution for myself or the bidding GM. I would like you to respond to this offer with either an intent to match or to take the compensation by tomorrow noon. Sunday.
UFA is wrapping up sooner than I expectg here and we've deemed San Jose as the winning or standing bid on Leopold.
