Free agency will start on Monday July 3rd at 12:01 am eastern time. A link to the season 7 free agency page will be posted prior to that time (hopefully I'll have it ready before I leave for Ireland).
All signings are pending verification of cap space and cash availability.
A "bid" is determined as the average yearly salary (salary + signing bonus per year). ie. Sergei Fedorov is offered $7,000,000 per year for 3 years with the max bonus ($10,500,000: determined by $7,000,000 times 3 times 0.5). Therefore his bid price is $10,500,000: (average yearly salary + average yearly bonus or $7,000,000 + $3,500,000). No contractual bonuses are considered for any offer.
Other rules:
1. A bid will be accepted if it stands for 48 hours from the posted time listed. If a new bid is valid within that time, a new time stamp will be posted along with the new bid, and the clock will be reset.
2. If a new bid is NOT 200k or more higher than the original bid, it will be discarded and the original bid along with day and time will stand.
3. Bids must be sent in to brhls7@yahoo.com in the follwing form:
PLAYER NAME: YEARLY OFFER for # OF YEARS + SIGNING BONUS
Notes: WE will keep track of the loyalty bonus of $300,000 per year. It is not necessary to include it, but you can if you want; IF THE SIGNING BONUS IS NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 50% OF YEARLY OFFER TIMES THE NUMBER OF YEARS, YOUR BID WILL BE CONSIDERED INVALID AND IT WILL BE DISCARDED.
Also please include in the subject: BRHL "TEAM NAME" FREE AGENT OFFERS
4. Bids can be sent in either individually or as a group as long as there is some sort of noticable distinction between the bids.
5. No trades of UFA's will be accepted once free agency starts. Loyalty remains fixed as of 12:01am on the 3rd of July.
In regards to RFA's: they can still be traded. Otherwise, same rules apply as to UFA's EXCEPT there is no fixed time on RFA signings. A final date to offer on RFA's will be decided as UFA's start to be signed. Compensation is listed on the rules page.
6. You CANNOT exceed the cap at any time during free agency (just like during the regular season). If an accepted bid places you over the cap, the player bid on will be reset, and the offending team will be fined the amount of the bid. Keep this in mind if you intend on bidding on several players.
(Before some GM's complain that they should have leinency in this regard, keep in mind that you cannot exceed $42 million during the regular season so if you intend on going after certain players, make your adjustments prior to signing the player).
Since there is also a yearly occurrence of issues, please post, email me or ICQ me and I'll resolve them ASAP by updating this page if you have any issues.
