I've been looking all over to no avail for a recipe for a soup I really like. I've had it at Sammy J. Peppers restaurant here in Vancouver a couple times and know it must be out there to be made.
It's called Jerk Chicken Chowder. It's a tomato/cream base/chowder style soup with a kick from peppers... it's awesome and must find a way to make it at home.
If any of you know any recipes or perhaps your wives/girlfriends send me an email...

chef.pct.edu/recipes/viewrecipe.asp?id=93Ken, get a bottle of President's Choice "Memories Of Montego Bay" for the Jerk sauce. If you want a creamy "chowder," add about 500 ml of light (or whipping) cream at the end but don't let the soup boil or the cream will curdle.

Hey, Chris, you live in the Lower Mainland. Have you been to Sammy J Peppers? Hot waitresses, hot food, hot damn! There's one in Langley, Richmond, Vancouver (Granville Island) North Vancouver, Coquitlam (by Ikea), and Burnaby (by Metrotown). If you do get a chance to go, try the Jerk Chicken Chowder. The recipe you posted I also found today on google.

I haven't been there in a while. I agree about the hot babes. The one in Coquitlam (the first Sammy J's I believe) was outstanding for tight black tops and ample cleavage. That was their hiring policy in fact - ample cleavage. My wife teaches in Richmond though and she has had students that have worked at the Richmond Sammy J's. They told her to never eat there. Apparently they do stuff there (to the food I presume) that they would not reveal to my wife. They simply warned her against going there at all.

Haha. I believe the Langley location was the first. And all restaurants have stories like that.
