I've enjoyed the 2K series the past 2 seasons. But I like EA in almost every other sport. I even bought both last year, but played NHL06 for an hour before I sold it on e-bay.
Both games look promising as it will be a tough decision especially for those looking for either on the XBOX 360.
2K Sports: NHL 2K7 Pros:
Electronic Arts: NHL 07 Pros
I'm 60/40 on leaning to getting NHL 2K7. I think NHL 07 is a year behind, imo. They're trying to do what 2K Sports did, last year. I think that both games will be good, but if I'm going to spend $60 on one, it better be a great game.

2K Sports: NHL 2K7 Pros:
- The Franchise Mode. One of the best, most comprehensive a sports video game has to offer.
- Track record. They haven't really let people down in the past couple years.
- Better features. NHL07 looks to be a little more "arcadey" in the sense of how you play. Plus from what I've read, EA is looking to make up for lost ground and improve on the things that 2KSports did last year (better defensive AI, better goalies, less success on the one-timers, franchise mode/lasting appeal, etc.)
- Better setup for controls on the console.
- Online Play. Every EA Sports game I've played online has been a let down, except for FIFA06. Played NHL 2K6 online a couple times. Even played Cal and things went smoothly.
Electronic Arts: NHL 07 Pros
- Better presentation. I think EA puts some more added excitement into their games, aside from just playing the game.
- Gameplay. From the videos I've seen, NHL 07 looks like a more fluid game (Aside from some skating glitches). It looks closer to what they had 2 years ago, which was a heavier, more realistic looking game. Not something you'd pop in 25 cents for at an arcade.
- Promise. Pretty much a new design team has worked on this game from last years effort. Could they have EA on the right track
