I am totally disgusted with the standard of NHL officiating. I will not be watching the remainder of the playoffs. Go Giants.
.. in case anyone is wondering. The blatant elbow to Hansen's head by Rob Niedermayer uncalled, turns the puck over, Luongo thinks a penalty is being called for the blatant head shot, and the puck ends up in the net. Head shot + elbow = penalty.... i guess not.

Only time to take criticism of officiating seriously is when it's done when your team wins. Otherwise it looks bad. Cause you know, it goes both ways.

If you the replay you see Hansen's head hit Niedermayer's elbow. I wonder what the end of the game would have been like if Hansen stayed down?

The standard of what was a penalty completely changed in the playoffs. I think it's just gotten worse as the playoffs have gone on (calls slowly moving towards the dead puck, clutch and grab era). Lots of these big boys began leaving their feet in the 2nd round to make big hits... Guaranteed this issue will be brought up at league meetings this off-season. Can't deny it though... these games have been very entertaining (minus nucks/stars), and a true hockey fan will continue to watch the games.

I'm sorry to say that Neidermayer hit Hansen with his arms at his sides. Hansen simply skated with his head down into Neidermayer and it looked a whole lot worse for it. No elbow. Clean (if horrific looking) hit. Hansen will know better next time. Hopefully his teammates will call "heads up!" next time too.

I thought the fact that they pushed Luongo into the net just before the Ducks first goal was worse, if that is not goalie interference I don't now what is. I'm certainly happy with the season, and when your team can't score more than two goals a game we really didn't deserve to advance but I certainly think the ref's hurt us but that is not the reason we didn't move on.
Now as I do every year I will take a bit of a break from hockey till I start playing in a couple of weeks to recharge the batteries a little.

I'm seeing a LOT more interference of forcheckers lately. I thought when the puck is dumped in a defenceman cannot impede the forchecker yet it happened time and again in the Dallas series and again in the Anaheim series. Also, I thought passes through the neutral zone that are missed and go down the ice don't necessarily need to be called icing yet they were called all the time.
