Don't know how many of you subscribe or read it regularly. But I was kinda surprised at a few responses when they polled nearly 300 NHL'ers
╕To what city would you least like to be traded? Buffalo - 16% Edmonton - 11% NYI - 10%
╕Would you rather see fourth-line roster spot go to? An Enforcer - 66% A skilled player who can play the power play and participate in the shootout - 33%
╕Would you be comfortable playing with an openly gay teammate? Yes - 67% No - 33%
╕If you could play for any NHL team (other than your own) which would you choose? Toronto - 15% NYR - 12% Detroit - 8%
╕Are you open to the idea of bigger nets? Yes - 84% No - 14%
╕Would you agree to a shorter regular season if it meant 10-15% less revenue No - 63% Yes - 37%
╕Who is the most overrated player in the NHL? Sean Avery - 9% Brad Richards - 8% Bryan McCabe - 8%
╕Who is the most hated player in the NHL? Sean Avery - 66% Jordin Tootoo - 6% Darcy Tucker - 4%
enjoy.

I see the the centre of the universe media hype Machine in toronto is doing a good job putting their positive spin on TO and negative spin on Edmonton. Ever since the Pronger fiasco
I garantee that a year ago the results would not have been as high for Edmonton. Edmonton will always have the disadvantage of having the coldest weather in the nhl, just like Buffalo will always have the most snow--- by reputation anyway. But, ever since the Pronger trade demand the Toronto based media (more specificially CBC and TSN, and THN) have done their best to portray a very negative image of Edmonton, which I believed has influenced players that have not spent a lot of time here.
Whats funny, is most of these players are from similar climates (the Prairie region produces the most NHLers) yet they get used to Califoria weather and suddenly they become pussies. Well more specifically their trophy wifes want to work on their tan during the hockey season.

From what I've been told Edmonton is a very ugly town to live in regardless of climate.

He's just bitter that he lives there . Comon, if you had a trophy wife, you would want her working on her tan during the season. And when you sign with one of these teams, you get a fat ass paycheque... It just makes sense!

Maybe so but I dont see what is so much better about Calgary (the buildings and streets are better kept you never see any green in Calgary it is always brown and dry, unlike Edmonton which is very green in the summer), or Buffalo (which did make the list). I cant say for sure but places like Pittsburgh, Columbus, Detroit, Minnesota (that one is from experience), NJ, and St. Louis dont strike me as places that would be a lot prettier. But then again I have never been there.
You are lucky that you live in a pretty city, not all big cities are so, it'll be sad when you guys fall into the ocean with half of the Pacific divison. Winnepeg may get a team back, the whole city looks like the ghettos of Edmonton.
Edmonton does have its positives such as the largest park system in any north american city. If you are in a high-rise on the south side and look down on the city all you can see is a ton of trees and a city under the canopy. Cant be that bad of a city when everybody from BC, Newfoundland, and the Prairies seems to feel the need to move here.

If we move its not going to be to any other North American city but to Eruope.

So it's Toronto's fault that Edmonton sucks ass. Sounds like a Westerner argument.
