... for all those naysayers who claimed Rory Fitzpatrick's possibility going to the allstar game as a joke and would ruin the integrity of the game. Take a look at the just released NHL Allstars: www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=287350No Sedins, no Jagr, no Kovalchuk... but at least we'll get the see the entertaining Yanic Perreault, Jason Blake, Justin Williams, and Bill Guerin. With Cheechoo and Thornton voted in... I'd say save the picks of Marleau and Perrault and toss in the Sedins. The Sedins would put on a clinic with a winger like Selanne. So don't worry folks, the integrity of the ASG is safe.

I wanted Rory in and voted many times. I think Old man Red neck Cherry and Whine Gretzky showed a lack of class to try and attack Rory as a player. He didnt really have a lot to do with it.
so with Perreault going after Gretz called out Rory does that make him a bit of a hypocrit. Sure Perreault has some pts and is better on face-offs but Rory is a million time better in his own end and that says more about Perreaults defensive abilities rather than Rory's. You can say that Rory didnt deserve to go, but neither does Perreault. You can also say that the all-star game is about pts and that Perreault has them but his totals are still less than an all-star should have. One thing that Rory had that Perreault doesnt is that Fans wanted to see Rory there, I dont think too many people wnated to see Perreault take up space on the squad.
BTW Ive already heard that Jagr himself withdrew and didnt want to go.
Smytty in his first all-star game.
4 sharks in the game: Kaberle, Thornton, Gagne, and Smyth plus J Jokinen in the young stars game. Ian White should also be there over Green but I guess he is not since Steen is going?
