They haven't missed a beat since last season's elimination (due mainly to injury woes at the worst time). This team will easily clear 100 points again. They are the toast of the Northeast now that Ottawa has taken a slight step back. No other club in the Eastern Conference strikes me as being able to rack up the points. (I expect the Cane's to make the playoffs but not be as successful as last season.)
There's too much parity within the top clubs in each of the Western Conference divisions in order for big point numbers to be accumulated. The only threat to a Buffalo President Trophy is Nashville or Detroit, but if Columbus can play to potential, then the Sabres should be a lock. As it is, they have more than a good chance to lead the league in points this season.

The Sabres are good and for real, however I am not sure about the dynasty part. Today's rapid changes from season to season meaning teams can improve or regress very quickly.

Sabres won't win the cup until they drop the new uniforms.
Every night i cringe when i watch Sportscenter.

I think they have all the makings of what it takes to be a legitimate great team. Productive scoring from their top lines. Great goaltending and team defense. A coach who is perfect for their team. I think that they play well to the new NHL, and should be good for the remainder of the time they're able to manage under the cap.
