Has anyone heard or seen why Esche wasn't pulled? Leaving him in for such a beating must be a great way to instill confidence . . . .

I know he had said something that was a little out of line perhaps. But 9-0? Sounds like all the skaters and Hitchcock disagreed with him . . .

I found a link: Flyers' goalie Robert Esche is scheduled to make just his second start tonight in Buffalo. But his mouth apparently is in midseason form. Asked Monday about Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock's decision to start him against the Sabres, Esche said, "I don't try getting in his head, that's for sure. It's an empty place." Hitchcock grew red-faced when told of Esche's comment and could only come back with the reply, "Tit for tat." The last time Esche faced the Sabres, he was standing in the runway behind the Flyers' bench holding a stick he splintered against a cinder block wall. It was May 2 and Esche was seething after allowing five goals in what would become a humiliating 7-1 home-elimination loss in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061017/SPORTS04/610170363/1002/SPORTSHa ha ha, what a thing to say. I guess this serving of humble pie is pretty bitter.

Thankfully I'm not a flyers fan, I'm thankful for that every day of my life...
But the Flyers putting Nedved, Dimitrakos and Baumgartner on waivers? seem a bit much, or just about right?
I think it's about right, gotta send a message somehow.

Funny that those three are on waivers and not the guilty culprits like Hatcher and Esche.
