O'Sullivan straigh up for Demitra would have been close IMO, I think O'Sullivan wins the Calder next season. Getting the extra 1st (Lewis) swings this LA's way IMO

He's the MVP of the Super league, and he won't have to compete with an Ovechkin or Crosby for it. Plus, noone from this draft class will step in and dominate like the past seasons.

LA not only got return but just took a whole fat chunk out of their payroll. This deal will help Minny in the short term, but I believe it really benefits LA in the longer shortterm AND definitely has a positive impact on the overall longer term prospects of the organization.

I went with Minny. Picking up Demitra will most certainly entice Gabby to sign a long trem deal. Locking up Gabby is the deal breaker for me.

good point chris, didn't really think of that. I like both players a lot, they're both good, but O'Sullivan's upside is the biggest talent in this trade. He will be a great player, but I'm wondering if he's having management issues since the Wild chose to trade him. Or it was simply because they want to keep Gabs. Demitra helps with the offense. and will spread the scoring out more. Assuming Gabs and Demitra play together. You;ve still got Rolston, Koivu, Bouchard, etc. Not the most potient lineup, but productive nonetheless.
