I abstain from voting until I see if they can sign Luongo long-term.

That's obviously the swing question. But for a player for player standpoint, undoubtedly the Canucks won

I am worried about Luongo. He doesn't seem too thrilled to be coming here. Maybe the goalie graveyard rumour has got to him. I am not all that upset to see Auld go as I wasn't sold on his ability to be a true #1 in the league. He seemed to be slower in the crease laterally than a good #1, solid positionally but poor acrobatic skills. Also with Schnieder coming along and Ellis and Vincent how long was Auld going to be our goalie of the future?
I think Nonis has to prove to Luongo that this team will make a push for the playoffs. There is a concern with the defensive especially if Jovo dosen't return but look at Carolina's defensive and you don't see defensemen of Jovanovski or Ohlund calibre. I wonder if Luongo is worried about the talent in the North West division. In the Southeast Luongo only had one player on each team to worry about (Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Lecavalier, and Staal). Here in the West I think he will see more players in his crease area and closer games.

I think Nonis has to prove to Luongo that this team will make a push for the playoffs. I think Nonis has filled the cupboard AND this upcoming year, like the last the only place blame should be laid is at the feet of the players. So if Luongo has reservations it should be with the team's captain and some of its more veteran players for complacency and lack of drive down the stretch.
