Its bitter sweet losing in the game 7 I tell you that. I almost cried last night. Ive been in a sullen state all morning and all I dreamt about last night was the cup that got away. It is by far easier to take missing the playoffs or an early exit I can tell you that but I wouldnt have traded it for anything other than a cup win. Im proud of the team for the run that they made and after the cloud goes away I'll look back and be very happy to see what they accomplished.
You can try and talk smack, or rub salt or whatever, but for this season you can hold nothing over Oiler fans unless you are a Hurricanes fan, and I see none of those here other than a few who may have jumped on the bandwagon.

I'm not a Carolina fan.. I'm a Canuck fan! I remember when the Canucks lost in 94, that hurt too. I think I went into my backyard, laid on the grass and cried (I was only 12!). I have nothing against the Oilers, this post was just in good fun. They play an awesome brand of hockey thats awesome to watch. I wouldn't be suprised to see the Oil winning the Northwest next season.

I work at the Pittsburgh airport now.
Yesterday, a man wearing a Carolina Hurricane shirt came in. I asked him "so, are you a fan or a bandwagon jumper?"
He says "my son is one of the trainers for the 'canes, he do in any minute."
"I bet he had a fun night last night"
"Yeah, he called me at three in the morning, horse from yelling all night, to tell me he was drinking from the cup at center ice with Kid Rock."

I'm a Habs fan and at least i have seen color pictures of the Habs with the Cup.
Can anyone produce a color picture of the Leafs with the Cup ?
And to admit i always cheer for the Canadian teams in the playoffs, that is with the exception of the Leafs.

Colour photography has been around for a very very long time, even by Leaf Cup standards. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_photography

I assume those cups are superimposed? Why else would a Leaf team have em?

They are unedited photos, though I had to crop the first photo because the Brontosaurus in the background made the picture too busy.

Nice Norm! I'm a Habs fan and at least i have seen color pictures of the Habs with the Cup. Can anyone produce a color picture of the Leafs with the Cup ? Easy bigfella. Ever since Montreal dumped St. Pat to the Nordiques or from about '94 on, being a Habs fan was like being a Leafs fan in the 80's in the Ballard ages. Granted my team sucked this year, but your team has sucked for oh about the past decade. They haven't had a power play since Bobby Smith and Mats Naslund dressed for the club. It took an exleaf to get them into the second round that time against Carolina. Whereas Toronto has been playing exciting hockey (again not this season) but pretty much every year in that time and not been a perennial disappointment.

Though the Oilers did lose, sadly, it was good to see such a great series and such a great game 7. McCreary reffed a hell of a series, and should get rewarded for it. Cam Ward play amazing in net. Although when the Pisani, Horcoff, Dvorak and Samsonov have a half open net to shoot at I'd rather them not shoot it into his glove. PLUS I think NBC jinxed the Oilers by not having the game in true HD for game 7, I was rather upset about that one. But what is done is done, even though it's an unsettling final result, the Oilers played a hell of a series. The same cannot be said for the Canucks, Leafs, Habs or (insert your mediocre team here). Also, I'll take the future of the Penguins over any team in the league right now. We've gotten away with murder getting these high picks. Just hope they stay in Pittsburgh. btw, is anyone running a mock draft poll?
