I never saw the game only heard it on the internet - sound like a heartbreaker boys. What happened with Mario? Was it a cheap call or was he being stupid/ lazy? I mean 18 seconds left - that sucks.
I was hoping they'd make it to a shootout.
Eventually they'll find a way to win boys, as opposed to find a way to lose.

to be honest I was looking at my monitor when the play initially happened, so I missed it. but on the replay, it looked like a possible roughing penalty to Lemieux and then a Misconduct Penalty for diving to the FLA player who I forget. But to be honest, it's not like I didn't see the loss coming. The Penguins are getting the worst bounces on everything, not to say that's the only reason they're losing. But they've hit that mid-season skid at the begining of the season. They have 5 OT losses/shootout losses, so they have points, and only 4 regular season loss. I'm still optimistic, I've watched too many recent years of bad Penguins Hockey to give up on them now. They'll be good, just whenever Gonchar take less than 20 penalties a game...

What about Bryce, George, and I? Stupid Oiler suck. Today they have a lead and look to be going away with 2 pts. 9 minutes left they get a 4 minute PP. Stoll takes a dumb penalty so we have 4 on 4 in which stupid Dvorak proceeds to score on our own net. Then in the dying minutes a bad attempted pass to Rita (didnt see who made the pass when they should have just dumped it) and the Oiler D are unable to changed they get pinned in their zone and boom 4-3 Avs with 43 seconds to go. Then Stoll decides to be lazy again and the Oilers dont even get to pull Markanen for an extra attacker as Kono scores 20 seconds later. 2 pts to no pts in a matter of minutes,
Stupid Oilers, only Markanen, Rita (yes Rita), Staois, Torres, Stoll (until tonight where he was awful), Moreau, and Reasoner have looked good. (Smyth and Horcoff get a bye as they have been injured most of the skid and both do not look 100% yet though Horc was flying tonight for 2 periods).
Conklin, Dvorak, Ulanov, Semenov, and a few others have been awful.

Rita has been awful, what have you been watching Cal? I love how MacT refuses to give him any icetime, until their is 1 minute left in the game...what a moron.
I've said it before and I will say it again, we have the WORST coaching staff in the NHL, its not even close. We've ran the exact same PP for 4 years, it worked for the first 2 games this season and since then has been horrid. Set the umbrella up with 1 guy low and 1 in front of the net and set up the one timer. Anson Carter used to be the focus (no thats not a typo), then last year it was MAB at the end of the year. Now it's Stoll......Geez you think teams know that by now?
Hemsky, as much as I love him, has been brutal. He needs to play with a sniper to produce like he can, but we dont have one so he plays with Peca and Torres neither of which comes close to being a sniper....Why not have kept Schremp and played Hemsky and Peca with him???
Just like we ran Poti and Comrie out of town, Cross and MacT are next.....GIVE US A SUTTER!!!

Ive been watching the Oilers but maybe you havent if you think Rita has been awful. With Rita a lot of people come with Bias and already decided how he was going to play before he stepped on the ice. He was one of the only players playing with any passion last night. Mac T seemed to gain some trust in him as he replaced Hemsky on the 2nd line in the 3rd. He is one of the only guys who will shoot, (Torres, Stoll, Bergeron, Staois and Moreau being the others) and though he is not solid defensively has been adequate. He is not a hitter but is a decent backchecker as he can use his stick on the other guys stick (an important skill in the new nhl). Hard to be a huge impact when you play few minutes and it is mostly with Laraque or Winchester. I dont expect him to light it up and be the difference maker but he has been more than adequate in his role.
And yeah Torres is not a sniper but he has been one of the best Oilers. He shoots and goes to the net hard.
Dvorak has been the worst Oiler skater by far (Conklin has been th worst). Top line minutes and the moron has as many goals in his own net as he does the oppositions. Pronger has been good, but has not been Pronger.

Im surprised you challenged me on Rita and not Moreau. for Moreau I should clarify, he has looked really good.............in some games. I actually meant to put him under the list for looking good and looking bad. He has been awful in some games and was last night too, but he has also been one of the better players in others. I love the guy but he has been inconsistent, is turing the puck over, not playing with the same spark as he used to (consistently) and is not hitting.
Oh and whats with MacT and his biases? Its like some players can never do any wrong in his eyes (Cross, Moreau, Staois - though he is usually good anyway, Dvorak) while other guys do the slightest thing wrong and they are on their ass for a whole game (Laraque, Rita, winchester though these two do have to prove themselves more, Ulanov, Semenov-but he has been bad) I hope Reasoner was injured because if not can someone please tell me why in the world he would have been benched in the 3rd?

I think Mario had to make up for that FLorida game - that loss was partly because of his irresponsibility at the end of regulation.
Good to see him rebound.
