Phoenix GM Mike Lewis was seen storming away from a press conference today when he was informed that the San Jose Sharks played last nights game with a roster OVER the salary cap. Phoenix has found itself in the hunt for the playoffs and every game is extremely important down the stretch. Even with that aside NO team should be permitted to play a game over the salary cap. All GMs are fully aware of the cap and if they sign, trade, or bring up players they have to take into account how much cap space they have and act accordingly. There is no excuse for teams being over the cap espcially so late in the season and at such a crucial time in the year. Phoenix demands a response from the league head offices. Clearly there is nothing to be done about games played. Hoever San Jose and any other team(there does seem to be several) that is over the cap should be punished accordingly, in the full strength and breathed of the law as layed out by our league. Further more Phoenix believes there should be a complete hault in BRHL action until these issues are addressed in full by the league office. The legal office of the Phoenix Coyotes have been working over night on the matter and are considering and reviewing any and all potential legal action that could be taken against the travisty that has taken place in the last twenty-four hours. The National Gaurad has been called in to deal with riots that rival the Rocket Richard riots. Phoenix fans are calling for someone's head on a platter. However the worst may be yet to come. As the city is in complete disarray, in a quite dark corned in his private bar Phoenix GM Mike Lewis has been seen hovering over a very large bottle of dark rhum. For everyone's sake I hope the league addresses this issue before he gets to the bottom......otherwise all hell may break loose.

There is no problem here, just a lack of communication on my part. The reason this happened is cause the Shark put Jason Arnott on IR for a month. Arnott was expected to be out later than a month, but in the rules there is not a set time and money for anything longer than a month. What happened was I did everything according to the rules (take the finances from SJ to pay for Arnott on IR, and write down when he would come off IR) what I did not do was suspend him. I did not suspend him because I thought that if you suspend a player his CD goes to 100 and after his suspension he'll be able to play. And since Arnott was expected to be out longer than a month I was gonna wait and see at what CD Arnott was when his stint on the IR was up and then talk to Cal about where he wants to go from there. All this was my fault. I put the info underneath the IR section on the main page, but the logo doesn't work, so it might not have caught peoples attention. Everything is getting worked out and the league will continue to move as if this never happened...

The Phoenix press you like partically retract it's earlier reports. The apparent rage and drama that was brought on by Phoenix GM Mike Lewis seems to be have spurred on by the fact that GM Lewis had acted after already reaching the bottle of that oh so dagerous bottle. As usual he jumped the gun and did not check all of his sources before inciting the city to riots and reaking havok through the midwest. The Phoenix legal staff will be spending yet another late night trying to cover their boss's behind and keep him out of jail. Fans coninute to riot and pilage however they are not seeking a different head to be laid out on a platter.
