As you will see in your email respond to this message with your partcipation in trading/lines etc. as well as an improvemt you would like to see in the league.
Bryce Shuck BRHL WILD
My participation has no doubt been lacking, but with school & work I have had little time to do much with the league. I have been semi-active in shopping a few players, but I feel that all my tradeable assets are gone and the key young guys I have now I want to hold onto at least until the offseason, because I have positioned myself well for the draft. I have not sent lines in in awhile simply because my team has no hope of doing anything and I am content for this season to ride it out. I am not throwing any games as my best squad is dressed. Also I have responded as immediately as possible to any trade offers on email and to suspension commitee matters.
The improvement I would liek to see in the league is more use of the messageboard by the majority of GMs in the BRHL.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been extremely active. In the last three weeks we have added Roman Hamrlik, Daniel Alfredsson and Doug Weight positioning ourselves for a run at the cup, not to mention adding stellar netminder Jose Theodore for that bum Roman Cechmanek. ;D
Our lines go in every game and we are on top of our team at all times.
I think that a salary cap does do what you say Bryce and limits the ability of GMs to make moves. I would have loved to have added more players but without taking on salary, it is impossible. There are other ways to make sure that teams don't get hosed in deals but I know my thoughts on caps are not supported so I will drop it.
As for the league, I think a positive is that Eric has done a bang up job in keeping the simming rolling on time....but there has been no reason for GMs to interact. That is why the dolldrums.
I think this Roll Call should be done on a regular basis. And if you aren't active, then you are done.

Im still here. I send lines when neccessary but my team was rolling along well so I didnt mess with it unless injuries or the cap forced me to.
I hardly trade or even talk trade as I have been kissing hte cap all season and dont think I can squeeze much out of it. Guys who might seem overpriced like Arnott are on pace for over 80 pts (or were until he had injuries). I already made a deal earlier in the year that sacrificed skill for a cheaper player. But other than aquiring Dackell I have not done much as my team is squeezed to the max. To me it is past for point of having fun trying to be creative, to the point of it being a chore.
I think part of the messageboard activity declined when we switched boards. I dont thik this is a dificult board to use at all, but to me it always seems that the simpler the board the more traffic and articles.

The Detroit Redwings are still around. I've been close the cap and fighting injuries most of the season so I'm content with riding my team through from here on in with no trades. I think once this hard cap is in place for a few seasons we'll see some trading, but right now there are too many over priced players on the market making trading somewhat tricky.
Also, the long load time for the page puts me off even checking this more than once a week.
Speaking of the page and participation, I know Glowman, Kings GM, has been having problems even getting the BRHL header to load on his computer. All he gets is a white screen everytime he tries to log on, but I know he is content with riding his team where it is and see about getting a good draft pick. He's going to ride out the season and then figure the page problem out in the offseason.
I'm on ICQ a lot yet nobody approaches me about trades so I don't think it's a lack of nobody being online, I just think nobody wants to trade.
I have been not overly active for a few months but if you look at total posts made I'm at 65, which ranks 2nd only to Bryce Shuck as the top poster so nobody can really say I haven't done my part.
I think, like myself and a few others may have pointed out, that this league just burnt out as there was TOO much happening and too much to keep track of. The BRHL Minors, WJC, World Cup, etc etc ad nauseum. Let's just keep things simple. BRHL and that's that. I put in a lot of effort into naming a Canada WJC squad yet it was all for naught as that venture died.
Let's for next season, keep the league simple. Design a faster loading homepage. Develop a simming schedule and/or name alternate simmers. Name a full time commish. (No offense Bryce, but in the CNGHL we had a guy name Cory, aka Shanny, as the league commish and he was never around because he was so busy, even though the reigns were also being held by a co-commish the league kinda suffered.)
I generally don't like the free agent format. It causes too many GMs to overbid for guys just to make the top 3. If this continues trading will stay down.

I think its fairly self-explanatory how active I am in this league. I have been running the BRHL for the most part since August, and I have been running the BRHL Juniors since its existance. ;D
I have been maintaining my team, and Im trying to make the playoffs or set myself up nicely for the future. Whichever comes easier I will be doing, I have not laid down for a high draft pick, as I have my best team out there(even though thats not saying much).
As far as improvements I'd like to see in the BRHL, activity is probably the main issue. I'd like to see different people sending lines, or atleast notify the league why they are not sending lines. I'd like to see people keeping better track of their teams, there were too many Salary Cap Casualties this season.
I appreciate the people who are very active in this league, as they are making this league as fun as it can be. I appreciate the kind words from my fellow GMs about me helping to run the league. I think thats it, thank you.

Selective memory I s'pose. Anyhoo, the Bruins are here. Don't send in a lot of lines. Tend to go on long losing streak when i do.. go figure Haven't been too active on the trade front. Really just want to let my team go where they go and then sign some nice FA's in the offseason. That way I'll have depth already. 2 picks in the top 10 will be nice though .

hey BRHL, I am sure it may appear like I am quite inactive. I have not made a trade in quite sometime and I rarely send in lines. I'll explain both my justification for both. When I first took over Phoenix it was on the verge of being a cup contender and was a solid competator in the BRHL. Then I proceeded to deal away just about all of the talent for picks and youth. I have plugged the holes on the roster with 'character' players and players not quite ready for the role they have been given. I did not think the team could win the cup and I choose to rebuild it to fit more of a team and plan I have in mind. Now as we are all aware here in the BRHL it takes a while to develop players but I am a patient GM and am in no rush, I was perfectly willing to let the team suffer for a season or two until the team started to mature. However the rag tag bunch of guys won the odd game or two. Then they started to win more. I did not do anything good with the lines. They just started winning games that they really should not have won. I have tried to monkey with the lines from time to time to make them even better and it does not work. There is a bizzare chemistry thing going on. So I just let it auto line 95% of the time. I don't want to deal away the youth and picks I worked hard to get. I also am hesitant to deal away vets because i don't want to mess with this funky chemistry. I always reply promptly to trade offers. I do consider them. I would be much more open to deal away vets to get more youth or picks and am not really looking to deal my youth. But I will aways consider offers so feel free to send them. I have not tried to go make trades because I know the only strength I have on the trade table is my youth and I want to keep them. I hope this helps to explain my inactivity.
cheers,
Mike 'Phoenix will rise from the fire and ash.'

I'm Still in
I am kind of in the same boat as Phoenix but not exactly. I have troubles accessing my GMeditor due to a virus on my computer and i currently do not have another computer i can install the editor onto. Hence no lines.
No Trades: I haven't seen anything that really turns me on. Everyone only wants my good young guys not my older guys like Shanny or my last year guys like Roy or Housley. If you are interested in them please let me know so that i can try to move them to a team in the hunt.
Also, I find the website is painfully slow to load up the first time i go to the main page. I get the banner ok but averything after that takes a few minutes. Before it would all come up instantly. I know this is not just my computer because i have tried it from others with high speed internet. It is very annoying and some nights causes me not to check the page as i do not have time to wait for it to load.

Hey all, Ricky, GM of the Leafs here. Yes, I'm still kicking around. Lines: I could be better with lines. I send in new lines whenever I can. But my team usually does better with auto lines. Trades: I have made a couple deals here and there. Not super active. Not dead either. Suggestion to improve league: None. I'm happy with the league so far. I know I'll have more fun when my team gets better. But yes, I know it's going to take time. Contract Negotiations: Haven't started. Will need to get my a$$ in gear. ps: why does the forum change "my a$$" to "I disagree" ?!? I don't get it. Ricky GM Leafs.

I'm still here. Of course, no deadline deals from me since I am within one grand of the cap. Have not been as active with sending in lines (just enough to make sure that my team doesn't break salary requirements), but I do keep in touch with a few GM's on a regular basis including Eric. I will still do the awards this year, like last (as Eric knows), so those will be coming out after the season.

Still here, just finished the RFA contracts. Columbus is looking forward to the next season... this season while not totally given up, the chances isn't good even if I get to the playoff.... will roll the dice and see. Might move some of the forwards if the deal is right, pack them for high draft picks or key player... (Nash and Antropov are untouchables).
For league improvement, I would like to see people put a little more mind into things, going though rules and stuff... and show more respects to others (ie: do not make stupid offers!)

Here!
Happy to say that all is going according to plan in Montreal. As always, we respond to all email and icq's in a timely manner. And are regular board visitors; however, I must agree with an earlier comment that it is a slow board.
Interesting news out of Montreal these days is a rumoured offer from a certain Phoenix GM for Scott Young.
ps. I like this league, ron

Sorry fellas, i was gone since Friday last week, I'm back now i feel like i'm a good presence in this league. I'm not Mr. Trade but enjoy this league and would like to stay. Also i send in my lines whenever there is an injury or a change needed. Other then that i usually elect to run with the lines i have. Other things i've done i was the GM for the Youngstars game which i might add i destoryed the other team. But i'm looking for a Trade Deadline deal. Anyone with UFA's that aren't too pricey if they need the pick or cash get a hold of me.

I'm around too... i've been trying to keep under the cap in light of my incredible injury troubles over the past few weeks. I end up having to send in demotions, callups, injury reserve requests etc every few days because of the incredible rash of injuries that have hit my team.
Like many people, I'm becoming less and less motivated to check the league because of the huge load time. I find myself just hitting the stop button and typing in the URL for the Standings myself. But, this means I can't check the messageboard.

Good afternoon.
I'd first of all like to apologize to all in the BRHL for my inactivity of the past few months; school had me very busy and I had unfortunately overextended myself.
Now that things are back in order slightly I'm checking in to say that I'm alive and ready to continue Chicago's rebuilding. Hopefully we'll be able to perform a little bit better next season.
