What began with mediocre play has now snowballed into a horrific abscence of scoring and loose defensive play. The Habs are experiencing their longest losing streak of this season - 4 games and have only one win in their last dozen or so games. GM Lewis was cornered after the lates 3-1 loss to the leafs: "Hey we all know that when our club was filling the net earlier in the year that it wouldn't last the whole season. I didn't know it would be this bad. We are stinking up the place lately - and everyone is to blame." When asked about dealing away some of the talent on the roster, Lewis added: "Soon it will be time to make some very tough decisions in Montreal. We have some very good players like Sydor, Alfredsson and Hamrlik signed to some nice deals. It will be hard to let them go. There are also some fellas who, quite frankly, I think are dead wood and I'd like to see them on the next flight outta town. I believe some of our guys need a fresh start." When asked who needs to go Lewis mumbled something and stormed off. But sources close to management suggest he was referring to Scott Young, Val Bure and Chris Osgood, just to name a few.
