World GM Clint Panagopka is disappointed in the fact that Ottawa Senators GM Jordan Hansford won't release Alex Perezhogin or Pavel Vorobiev to the World Junior Championships.
"We were hoping that one of them would be released so they could play, but I guess those are the breaks," GM Panagopka stated.
With the confirmation that neither will be available...it seems as though the World Team will be short on players. The team will be announced tomorrow, and it is expected that a formal request will be made for non-BRHLer Christoph Schubert of Germany to be allowed to play.
"Schubert is one of the better young defencemen from Germany and along with (Christian) Ehrhoff, could be a formidable duo if allowed to play," Panagopka stated.
Schubert would be required to get the World squad to the minimum number of players. The conference is currently scheduled for 8 pm ET.

In the words of Bill Clinton "I feel your pain"
(snip) Ottawa Senators GM Jordan Hansford won't release Alex Perezhogin
Gee I can't imagine why?? 5 points in 21 games .. c'mon can't live without the guy
(snip)or Pavel Vorobiev
Of course , gotta keep him healthy he is the 6th RW on the team , hasn't played a BRHL game all season , someone has to fill the pretzels in the press box.
I'm wondering perhaps for next time maybe a little incentive for the owners , I know there is the possiblity of cash for some right now , but maybe some experience points for the players participating?
Rob -- who suddenly realizes he's becoming somewhat of a disturber

Funny no one ask for ANY of my eligible players yet Clint, want me to sign Ehrhoff at once and release him to you? ;D Actually I am being somewhat serious if World is really short on players.

I spoke with Bryce and Ehrhoff was supposed to be eligible to me anyway, since he is listed on a BRHL team (even if it is a prospect list). I guess I should ask for permission for Ehrhoff anyway (can I have him for the world team? The world is short on players...(I'd be competitive with Perezhogin and Vorobiev)...I think I have 6 defencemen (with Ehrhoff)...I have 3 RW's...however at least at forward I have some manoueverability with the hoard of crap centers at my disposal . I'll make due. But Ehrhoff would be much appreciated, Jackets. Thanks.
