-Players 30 years old with 1 year left, (or 31 with 0) are considered RFA’s and can be resigned by their teams. -Use the RFA guide here for signing your players www.brhlhockey.com/brhl/BRHLRFAGuide.pdf-There will be 3 Agents for RFA, whose information will be posted. As well as what players they are handling. -Each team may once per season, ask for an arbitrator to review a case if you and the agent are unable to come to an agreement. -Restricted Free Agents do not receive signing bonuses of any kind. -Compensation for signing an RFA is i. $400,000 to $599,999 = 5th Round Draft Pick ii. $600,000 to $999,999 = 4th Round Draft Pick iii. $1,000,000 to $1,999,999 = 3rd Round Draft Pick iv. $2,000,000 to $2,999,999 = 2nd Round Draft Pick v. $3,000,000 to $3,999,999 = 1st Round Draft Pick vi. $4,000,000 to $4,999,999 = 1st & 2nd Round Draft Picks vii. $5,000,000 + = Three 1st Round Draft Picks (One pick MUST be from the current or upcoming draft year) -Qualifying Offers are equal to 10% less than their prior salary.

what do you think of having a deadline for resigning RFA's? It would make sense for the deadline to be the start of the open bidding free agency period. So any players that do not agree to a contract extension, go into that RFA open bidding pool.....and if nobody bids on them, do you want them to continue to negotiate into the season, or simply have them automatically accept the qualifying offer?

The price brackets on these rules may need to be revised, given the new salary cap.
