No, I am going to call HP support tonight and have them send me a recovery CD. Lesson learned if it aint broke don't fix it. (I installed a second DVD player on my new computer and screwed something up). In the meantime I've hooked up my old PC again but had already deleted all FHL stuff on the PC (I was going to sell it to a friend who needed an internet computer so I deleted almost everything, including the porn!).
Tonight I am going to redownload the sim, and need the serial from you again Bryce. I will then use the league files I had burned to disc during my transfer and reinput all trades and signings to date. when my new PC is fixed I will port over updated league files.

I guess I really don't understand why there is so much fuss in this thread outside of the simple fact that our current system makes it far too easy to buy contracts out. Up that 10% to something more reasonable and see what the effects are. Remove that loophole and teams will have to consider the consequences of their free agent offers more. Even then though, players are going to be overbid on. That is how a highest bid free agency system works after all so either make the room to compete (like Van for example) or gather you players elsewhere (like NJ for example). I really don't see how we would fairly alter the system to take into consideration a player's preference outside of simple dollars and cents nor do I see a reason to do so. We are all going to have our opinions about who signed who for too much but the reality is the guy who signed that player was willing to do so and that is that. Inevitably someone may read this with a spinkle of hostility but none is intended, be merry guys....

I'm agree with John (doesn't happen often). We put the current structure in place because of overspending. No matter what system is in place, there will be overspending. This one has demonstrated in the past that there can be fiscal responsibility or using the space you have (like in the real NHL - which was the other part...we were trying to make a somewhat realistic attempt at FA without getting into "agents").
What needs to be fixed is the 10%. About half the free agents were buyouts, and there are a few times that have a significant amount of money. It created a turnaround effect where some guys ended up signing for near as much as they were being paid before.

Wow there was a reference made by some last year and before free agency that I paid too much last year for Foote with a 3 years 4 million dollar/6 million SB totalling 6/year. To those I say haha.
Foote at 4 million >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Smith and Leetch at 4.9 and 5.8.
