Jonathan Girard retired. appearently he couldn't recover from a car accident. sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2242630Jocelyn "don't call me a turnstile" Thibault cleared waivers. which is good news for me. This probably means that the Penguins are intent on keeping Fleury in the NHL, which he has earned the opportunity to try and become an everyday keeper.

I think the question with Fleury now is can he start playing some consistent hockey, get over being treated like a yo-yo and will the Pens start playing some kind of responsible defence in front of him to allow Marc-Andre to build some confidence. Dare I say Blackburn (although his was an injury problem - a large contributer of which might have been a rushed progression to the NHL, the Leafs ruined many a goalie that way in the eighties Bester, Wregget, Ing, Reese . . . )

Wow, I figured I'd see some comments on the Thornton trade to San Jose. Where are people's thoughts on that one?

Meh, I'm a little miffed Vancouver has stood pat when it is painfully obvious Bertuzzi fully believes there is an 'I' in TEAM. I'm sick of his aloofness on the ice and sick of his lazy play.... he is half the player he once was....
