I liked it when Ruutu/Crosby/Armstrong were on the ice. That's like 3/4s of the US National Dive team right there

Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0 on NW roadtrip. WE ARE THE NATION...OF DOMINATION!!! (yes both Penguin Nation and USA) Hearing all the bitter fans come out to watch a so-called "diver" was nice too. Plus Sabourin playing well against his old teams. I liked Malone's head hunting in the VAN game, don't usually like that stuff, but he didn't do it like a Flyer would, he's a PGH boy - no suspension. I also had flashbacks of Darcy Tucker's hit on Sami Kapanen years ago, when Laraque crunched Cowan. Great road trip, all 3 were exciting games. Here's to it continuing, great stuff.

"Thrown Stick = Legal, good old NHL favouring teams. That overtime penatly shot was a little over the top, he still got his shot away, so it should have been two minutes for tripping."
Found this on TSN and laughed out loud.
Any of you Canuckleheads want to cry about the "thrown" stick that was kicked out of his hands?
And the only reason Crosby got that shot off in overtime was because he is the greatest player in the game, and doesn't give up on a play. I could only think of 5 or 6 guys who would be able to even push the puck to the net while sliding on their ass with a defenseman under them.
And how about Kris Letang? The rookie winning the past two games with shootout winners?

Are you thinking that the people that visit messageboards are a cross reference of hockey fans? Sidney Crosby embellishes calls. All good players do, because they have the ability to play through them, which in turn will get them some calls. I don't think he is any less a player. Gretz did tons of stuff that wasn't that gentlemenly during his career. Screaming and swearing at refs etc etc.... Don't paint all the normal fans with the same brush as the cyber dummies.

What I think is the stigma attached to him, as well as other "divers" around the league, is misleading. I think every player at a time has embellished. But I do think opposing players and coaches (fans too, to some extent) use it more of a tactic to draw attention to, instead of stating a fact. Every star player gets targeted, rightfully so, but I don't think they embellish anywhere to the amount that they are accused of. At the same time, god forbid I'd be wrong for once, if star players do embellish or dive on every instance where they feel they can get away with it, then I can compliment them on doing whatever it takes to win.
