Should Lindros be in the Hockey Hall of Fame
I vote no. He twice refused to report with the team that drafted him - OHL draft and then with the Nordiques in the NHL draft and with all the headaches - literally and figuratively - he has caused... Nope. He's not welcome in my version of the HHOF.

I have to change my vote.
Lindros should be in the Hall of Fame...
...scrubbing the toilets, washing the windows, and doing any other janitorial work needed.
I hope he learned his lesson by now, because if he has his head down when he is mopping the floor, Neidermayer will probably knock his ass out again on his way to his display.

I said no but I'm really on the fence. I mean I don't give a crap about what a jerk he was and his refusals to report etc. There are a lot of jerks in the Hall - but they are there because they could play hockey. Lindros was dominant player who put up good numbers. He won awards and Olympic medals and all the other stuff a HoF inductee should have (no Cup though).
At the end of the day though I think a lot of his consideration is given becuase of what he COULD have been had he not been injured. Well, he WAS injured, so boo-hoo. You don't get to the Hall on potential. His actual NHL totals are very good - but HoF good? Debatable.
Then again if Cam Neely can get in, why not Lindros?
If he does though, somewhere out there Glenn Anderson is going to throw a brick at his TV.

I say no. Lindros never carried his teams like Neely did. The year the Flyers made the Cup final, Lindros disappeared. That to me is not Hall worthy.
Then again, they let just about anyone into the NHL HOF so Lindros will probably make it anyays.

I have to admit though - depsite my knee-jerk Lindros hatred - $5M to charity was a classy exit.

What did he do against Detroit though in the final series? When his team needed him to step it up the most, he disappeared and the Wings had a relatively easy time of things. That IMO is not what a HOF does.

That IMO is not what a HOF does. Ah yes.. Lindros was supposed to carry the team on his own against the Red Wings. Do you recall how good the Red Wings were? I believe the infamous Maltby/Draper combo zoned in on the Big E. The Wings were stacked and Philly had no business in the series. 57 points in 53 playoff games. Not a playoff performer at all . Basing his HOF on one series is silly. "Oh yeah Eric played great in the playoffs, except for that ONE series against the stacked Red Wings. That one series means no HOF" - is that what you expect to be said at a meeting? So in the 1994-1995 playoffs where NJ swept the Wings... Yzerman disappeared. Guess he isn't HOF worthy either?

Hmm, oddly enough Detroit drafted Steve Yzerman and he played through the thick and thin with them. When he started were some of the leanest years for Detroit.
Prima Donna = Eric Lindros Leadership / Heart / Hall of Fame Material = Steve Yzerman, Joe Sakic, Mike Modano, etc etc etc.

Well Im gone in a few hours so i wont get to read the replies but...
How many Hart trophy winners are in the Hall? All of the retired ones, that alone seals the deal for Lindros IMO.
IMO when Lindros was on top of his game before the injuries he was the second most dominating all around player of all time after Orr. I dont think there was ever another player who could dominate the game in all areas of the ice like he did and that includes Messier, Neely, and Howe.
Ability to dominate Lindros >>> Neely and he is in the hall and he was cut short due to injury as well. (although I will add that Neely was obviously a terrific player). Given some of the players that are in the hall it would be a disgrace if a player of Lindros' caliber is not in there.
