The Hills Have Eyes Starring: Ted Levine (Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs) Rated: R Runtime: 107 Minutes
Plot Outline: "A suburban American family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization" -imdb
Review: Talk about a slow starter. Absolutely nothing until the 35-40 minute mark. The family is so annoying you don't care if they live or die. Nice gore later on in the movie... but not nearly as frightening as the original (1977) version. One of the movies you watch and cringe at how the characters conduct themselves knowing you'd do something given the situation entirely differently with likely better results.
Grade: B- (First half: C-, Second half: B+)

Yes it started slow, yes the characters were annoying, and yes they were stupid.
One thing I expect in a horor movie is to be either scary, freaky, or gross (gory) and I saw none of this in The Hills Have Eyes. I stopped it about 5 times to do other things not because I really needed to but because I was bored. I forced myself to watch the whole thing.
Id give it a D. On an M Night Shyamalan scale, it wasnt even The Village.
