I've been a touch lenient with regards to this issue this year since we have eliminated the OV requirement for demoting players.
In previous seasons you could not demote a Forward rated 70ov or better, a defenceman 72ov or better, or a goalie 75ov or better - regardless of salary.
With STHS we've decided to hide OV (if you have noticed). Thusly we cannot enforce this old rule. And further the OV calculations are not the same between FHL and STHS.
That said, no I do not want GMs to overbid their cap but if it is clear that there is a simple roster adjustment with a set of lines then it's hard to enforce. Especially when I am unable to check if a new set of lines has been submitted via the portal where I am now.
This issue is usually more pertinent when GMs bid several multimillion dollar deals during free agency, far exceeding their cap space.
We need to discuss a solution to this issue for next year if we plan on keeping OV hidden.

Sounds good. I myself had 2M$ less showing on cap space right now because newest lines aren't updated as your away. But I checked the STHS editor when I sent my lines to see how much cap space I got before sending in UFA offers
